Looking for
the definition of a term in a particular subject can be difficult and
time consuming. That's where the Glossarist can help you look. Just choose a
subject or search for the industry you are interested in
at the top.
Language
and communication is a fascinating subject, and a never-ending field
of study for us all. Some people think that only academicians are
involved in linguistics, or the study of languages, but in fact we all
are. Languages are evolving and changing all the time and if we don't
keep up then fairly soon we simply won't understand what others are
saying.
So I have put
together here a compendium of glossaries on various subjects so you
can find the best definitions of terms in which you are interested.
The
Glossarist came about simply through my growing interest in language
and communication. I have given a more details explanation over at the
sister site of the Glossarist, Aussie
Slang, but the basic story is that my training is in the Arts,
music to be precise, and my interests lie in personal skills and
communication.
I was
resident in China in 2000
where I taught English and Business Management Soft Skills. I thoroughly
enjoyed my time there and look forward the when I can return.
That was when
my interest in Language really came to prominence and I started
building websites. First Aussie
Slang, then the Glossarist, and next... Well, you'll have to wait
and see to the next site.
I hope you
find what you are looking for, if not, please drop me a line and I
will go searching for a glossary for you. No Promises though.
Enjoy!
Woz, the
Glossarist.
